Cogstone Resource Management Inc. is taking applications for multiple monitoring positions for projects in the Inland Empire of California.

Job Description

Monitors must be able to stand for ten hours and be willing to work swing shift in addition to day shift to meet the needs of the project.  Your preferences will be considered. Overtime is paid for all work over eight hours in each shift.  Safety training is part of paid work.  Ability to work well with construction crews and colleagues and to follow specific protocols is necessary.  Previous mitigation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Geology, Biology or a closely related field or BA in archaeology with paleontological training
  • Two years of experience is preferred
  • Competency in field and laboratory work
  • Ability to conduct field work for long hours, in possible inclement weather conditions and the ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and their own vehicle
  • Supervisory experience a plus

Skill Requirements

  • Confidence in the construction environment
  • Proficiency in use of tablets and standard office software
  • Excellent field notes
  • Experience with stratigraphic columns and fossil recovery a plus
  • Fossil preparation experience also a plus
  • Ability to work independently with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative

Compensation

Competitive pay rate is commensurate with education and experience.  Full-time employees receive health, dental, vision, and 401k benefit plan with company match, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
